The Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) rolled out the timetable for its congresses nationwide.
But it was soon withdrawn without any explanation yet.
It was gathered that the roll out which was scheduled for next week, was brought forward following remarks made by President Muhammadu Buhari during a television appearance on Thursday.
The President had said the panel was given till the end of June to submit its report.
It was gathered that the caretaker committee held an emergency meeting to deliberate on the way forward.
A timetable which was released, but later withdrawn indicated that ward congresses would begin on July 10th, while local government congresses would follow on August 6, 2021. State congresses were scheduled for September 3 and zonal congresses for 30th September, 2021.
The withdrawn timetable was signed by Director of Organisation Prof Ussiju al-Mustapha Medaner.
Secretary to the Committee, Senator John James Akpanduoehehe, who spoke to reporters after the meeting of the caretaker committee said, “The organising Secretary will make the timetable available to you.”
