Diaspora Commission Welcomes Arrest Of S.A. Policemen That Killed Nigerian

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has commended the South African police for apprehending four policemen who allegedly murdered a Nigerian business man in that country this week

A statement signed by Gabriel Odu said Pius Abiaziem, a Nigerian businessman resident in Eastern Cape was killed during a scuffle with the police at his home in front of his wife and children. The arrested men are to face trial, according to the police

Furthermore, the Chairman of NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has urged the South African Police to expedite action on the matter and speed up the trial of the Four Policemen.

She urged the authorities to speed up other persons currently on trial for various offenses committed against Nigerians living in South Africa.
