Senator Dino Melaye has turned down the offer to lead the campaign council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Engr. Musa Wada.
Governorship election comes up on November 16 and it appears the main opposition party is already in crisis even before campaigns shape up. The PDP will face-off against Governor Yahaya Bello (APC) among other candidates.
Writing on his twitter handle @dino_melaye on Friday the senator said: “Let me state categorically that I have turned down the position of Director-General of the PDP Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council. I wish PDP all the best. When truth is a casualty there is chaos. Senator Dino Melaye.”
Melaye who is battling to upturn the nullification of his his senatorial election by the election tribunal at the Court of Appeal was a governorship aspirant during the PDP primary last month. He performed woefully and even got wounded after a melee following violence at the venue of the primary election.
He has tried to distance himself from the party since the loss at the primary where he scored a paltry 70 votes. The candidate Wada is the younger brother of the former governor of the state Idris Wada.
