Heavy Military, Police Presence As Buhari Arrives Borno

There is heavy presence of military, police and other operatives in Borno state as President Muhammadu Buhari and some Service Chiefs arrived at Maiduguri, state capital on Thursday morning.

They were received by the state Governor Prof Babagana Zulum at the Maiduguri airport.

There were many other dignitaries on hand to receive the president including the governor of neighbouring Yobe state Mai Mala Buni.

Zulum had in a statement on Wednesday, said: “President, Muhammadu Buhari, will be visiting Borno State on Thursday, the 17th of June, 2021.

“The President is coming to appraise the security situation in the northeast, during which he will commission some developmental projects executed by the state government.

“The President will also commission the first phase of 10,000 houses which he generously approved and funded, for the resettlement of IDPs and refugees.”
