The Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Prof Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi (SAN) is dead.
The KWASU Registrar, Mrs Kikelomo Salle, confirmed this in a statement issued in Ilorin on Sunday.
She said Akanbi died on Sunday after a protracted illness.
”We urge everyone to remember his immediate and extended families, and the University in prayers in this very trying time.
“Burial arrangement will be announced soon,” Salle said.”
Mustapha Akanbi became a Professor at the age of 40 and was appointed VC at 49 years old. He was a professor of law and senior advocate of Nigeria.
He was a former Director of University of Ilorin School of Preliminary Studies and also the son of respected former President of The court of Appeal and pioneer Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences, Justice Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi.
