President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday named the Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of 69 Standing Committees of the 9th Senate, with the former Deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu emerging as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Senator Ibrahim Hadejia as the Vice-Chairman.
Others who were announced as Chairmen and deputies of the committees are: Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Muhammed Enagi Bima (Agriculture and Rural Development); Senator Ibrahim Barau Jibrin and Senator Stella Oduah (Appropriation); Senator Dino Melaye and Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah (Aviation); Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Senator Ibrahim Bomoi (Communications); Senator Aliyu Wammako and Senator Istifanus Gyang (Defence); Senator Rochas Okorocha and Senator Ignatius Longjan (Culture and Toursim).
The list also include: Senator Olamilekan Adeola and Senator Isah Jibrin (Finance); Senator Matthew Urhoghide and Senator Ibrahim Hadejia (Public Accounts); Senator Adamu Aliero and Senator Emmanuel Bwacha (Works); Senator Gabriel Suswan and Senator Enyinnaya (Power); Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu and Senator Phillip Aduda (Petroleum – Downstream); and Senator Bassey Akpan and Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Petroleum – Upstream).
