Commandant Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) Major General Adeniyi Oyebade has said that aside from conducting military operations, the military is knee – deep in proving humanitarian services to various communities across the country, through its Civil – Military Cooperation Services, which serves a a vehicle to bring succour to the millions of people.
He affirmed that it is necessary for cadets to be trained on basic first aid techniques, therefore investigation will be conducted to ascertain modalities through which NDA could partner with Red Cross Society for such a training.

This he disclosed when in a bid to strengthen existing ties between the Nigerian Red Cross Society and the NDA, a delegation of the society visited the Kaduna-Abuja headquarters.
Speaking on behalf of the Red Cross entourage, Elder Sunday Oyibe ,a member of the Board of Trustees if the Society spoke on the need to engage personnel and cadets of NDA in a certificate training on first Aid. He also spoke on the possibility of conducting a training programme on disaster and risk management, especially for officers and men on the field.
Highpoints of the visit include the decoration of the Commandant with the Red Cross Badge by the delegates, automatically making him an honourary member of the Red Cross Society.
