Five females students of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi (FPTB) who live in off campus residences at the Gwallameji area of Bauchi Local Government areas reported to have been raped by some criminal gangs.
They were also attacked and their properties stolen.
The students accommodation facility were robbed , with several items carted away by the gun wielding men who carried out coordinated raids in the area
Some of the students were robbed of their laptops, phones and undisclosed amount of money. Findings revealed that two different robbery attacks happened in the area between August 15 – 25.
In the robbery incident of August 15 , five female students were raped at an isolated lodge not far from the Polytechnic campus.
The students who were planning to go on vacation after rounding up their semester examination decided to stay back to complete their projects but were caught unaware by the robbery syndicate.
The incident which occurred in the wee hours of the night left the students in shock as they were yet to recover from the sad encounter.
