An autopsy conducted on David Adeleke’s son Ifeanyi, confirms the infant died from drowning.
Ifeanyi, who is Adeleke, (publicly known as Davido’s) son with his fiancee Chioma Rowland, was said to have drowned in a pool on October 31.
It was gathered that the incident happened within Davido’s highbrow Banana Island, Lagos residence.
The three-year-old was said to have been rushed to a hospital in Lekki where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
It was also said that Davido had left for the US and Chioma for Ibadan, leaving Ifeanyi with domestic hands.
Following Ifeanyi’s death, the police interrogated eight of the singer’s domestic workers, including his nanny.
Two, the nanny and his cook, were subsequently detained for a further probe while the others were set free.
But Lagos Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, has now confirmed the results from an autopsy conducted on the remains of Ifeanyi. The results came out on Friday.
“The autopsy has been concluded and it’s confirmed that the boy drowned. It was concluded yesterday but the investigation is still ongoing. The two detainees are still with us,” the police spokesperson told a media source over the phone.
Earlier, claims spread on social media that the actress Eniola Badmus was arrested in connection with the incident.
Asked about this, Hundeyin stated that there is no connection between the movie star and the police investigation.
“The people who brought it up are in the position to talk about that. I don’t know how Eniola Badmus came into the whole thing. In our case files and statements, there is no talk about Eniola. There was never an arrest,” he said.
