Politicos’ ExploreWithChidera Nominated For National Tourism Award

Anchor of our hugely popular ExploreWithChidera, Chidera Echedom has been nominated for a national award owning to her widely regarded, detailed and exploratory reporting of the tourism sector . The culinary and travel magazine is a fresh and innovative way of presenting the sector to the reading public.

The Nigeria Tourism Award which has been won in the past by His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, nominated the weekly culinary magazine in the “Best Travel Blog Award”. The award also known as Balearica says winners shall be crowned on November 22. And the process shall be vetted by industry giant, Philips Consulting.

Her nomination reads: “Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have emerged as an official nominee for the Best Travel Blog Award at the Nigeria Tourism Awards 2019. The Nigeria Tourism Awards aka Balearica Awards recognize and honour exemplary and outstanding individuals and organizations in Nigerian tourism.

“The Balearica, named and designed after the Black Crowned Crane (once the national bird of Nigeria) is the icon of excellence for the Nigerian tourism industry. The winners will be announced on Friday 22nd November at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The voting is vetted by Phillips Consulting to ensure transparency.

“By your nomination please be advised that you are automatically entitled to 2 invitations to the awards ceremony on 22nd November. Please send the names of your designated representatives and a contact for information concerning the invitations,” the nomination letter read.

The organisers went on to advise that “the public voting for the final winner will run from 15th October to 15th November.”

The winner they say will “walks away with the Balearica statuette, a 24ct gold plated aluminum with a solid black acrylic base adjudged one of the most beautiful awards by all who have won it, a winner icon for web and social media, as well as official bragging rights as the best of the best in Nigerian tourism for the next 12 months. Some of the past winners of the awards include the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; Eko Hotel, Ibom Golf Resort Uyo, Emirates and Terra Kulture among others.”
