The death of top official of PricewaterCoopers (PwC) Tola Ogundipe has drawn widespread grief from members of staff of the company and other professional colleagues.
Politicos had exclusively reported that Ogundipe was found dead near his boat in Lekki on Monday, although he went missing over the weekend. Curiously, the boat was revving when his body was discovered off the coast on dry land.
The senior accountant was a fellow of the Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
ICAN were among the first groups to mourn him as they put out a statement on Monday evening.
ICAN Registrar and Chief Executive Prof. Ahmed Kumshe commiserated with memebers of Ogundipe’s family.
He said the deceased served the board as a member of council meriteriously since 2017.
PwC on its part simply tweeted “we mourn. Rest in peace. Tola Ogundipe.”
Several of his professional colleagues have paid their respects to Ogundipe through the social media handles of the both PwC and ICAN.
It is not clear if the family has launched an investigation into what seems like a suspicious death. Enquiries by Politicos are yet to yield substantial outcomes.
