Ugandan Varsity Sacks Nigerian Lecturer For Sexual Harassment

Kabale University has sacked the Head Department of Economics and Statistics, Dr Nafiu Lukman Abiodun,
after he was accused of sexual harassment.

Abiodun was accused of allegedly demanding sex from female students in exchange for marks and those that refused his demands were made to carry over the course.

A memo signed by the University’s Secretary, Bary Munono, and dated November 9, titled “disciplinary action” said the lecturer was found guilty of, “sexual harassment, failed to follow examination regulation and professional negligence”.

Dr Abiodun was subsequently let go at the expiration of his contract with the university on November 11.

Meanwhile some Ugandans have called on the authorities to arrest and try the Nigerian.

They said he may skip the country since he is not a citizen in order to avoid prosecution.
