The leadership of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) denied endorsing the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ladi Adebutu for next week’s election.
The party said it’s attention was drawn to reports being circulated by a cross section of the media, saying that the reports were “found to be fake, untrue and misleading”.
In a telephone conversation with the duo of the State Chairman and State Secretary, Adewale Akinsanya and Kayode Akinsola, they confirmed that such news is within the figment of the imagination of the PDP, which they say will do anything to curry the attention of the unsuspecting electorates.
In their words, “It appears as if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is yet to get over the hangover of their colossal failures in last week’s National elections, where they failed woefully”
The party urged the members of the general public to ignore such information or any news that is capable of causing confusion in the polity.
“As for YPP in Ogun State, we never had any intention to support PDP”, the statement said.
